 In-room Broadband Internet

Introduction

Want to provide your guests with high-speed internet access directly in their rooms?  Now you can.

Our in-room broadband internet systems give you the ability to supply your guests with fast broadband internet access directly in their room, with a fully automated billing system for  per-room or per-device charging.

Arinda Internet is a fast broadband internet service provider. We have been providing ADSL broadband internet access for over 4 years to business customers across Australia. We provide high quality, reliable connections through one of Australia's largest networks.

What is in-room internet?

In-room internet refers to the ability to supply an internet connection to guests in their individual rooms so that guests can simply connect their personal laptop, PDA or PC directly to the internet.

Today's travellers are looking for greater internet connectivity, and the advantage of our in-room internet access system is that your guests can enjoy fast internet access without having to leave the comfort of their room. This makes it ideal for business travellers and guests with young children.

Research shows that many travellers will base their accommodation decision on the availability of high-speed internet access. In fact, clients have approached us because they were losing customers by not offering this service.

How does this compare to Wireless Internet or HotSpots?

Small hotels and complexes may still consider wireless internet as a solution for their guests' needs.  However, when deployed on a large site wireless can end up more expensive, and far less reliable.  Large-scale wireless solutions often also require more ongoing technical support than in-room broadband solutions.

But the main advantage of in-room broadband is that it can easily and reliably reach into every room of your complex without the need for antennae or repeaters to be installed.

You can always offer both wireless and in-room solutions to your guests.  Wireless HotSpots are still ideal for reception areas, function rooms, cafes, and other common areas open to the public.

Where can this be installed?

Typically these new environments include hotels, motels, accommodation venues, university dorms, retirement villages, assisted living complex's and even serviced office buildings. Traditionally users would need to individually subscribe for Internet services, however with the our range of solutions, business and property owners can now capitalize on this new market demand.

How does it work?

We install equipment in your building which connects to your existing telephone cabling. We then supply a super-fast ADSL broadband internet connection to your building, which gets delivered to each room through the existing telephone lines. A small modem in each room allows your guests to connect to this internet signal.

You can choose to have the modems permanently installed in each room, or you can have a small number of modems at reception which guests can request as needed. You can also choose to have wireless hotspot devices installed so that guests can connect wirelessly.

Your guests do not need any special equipment or software - everything is provided for them.  All they need is their laptop computer.

Instead, the guest simply starts their laptop or PC and connects a cable to the modem in their room, or connects wirelessly to the wireless signal. After each guest connects, the system detects the new user and automatically directs them to a logon page.

The guest will not be able to use the internet until they purchase time on the system, which they can easily do using a credit card. The entire connection process usually takes less than 30 seconds, and it is fully automated, so no staff interaction is required.

Our system takes advantage of the existing cabling in your building, eliminating the need for new installations and minimising the disruption to your work practices.

We use fast broadband ADSL signals, so it doesn't tie up your phone line like other solutions. Instead it uses a very high frequency (inaudible to humans) across the phone line, so that you and your guests are still able to make regular use of the phone without interruption.

How much does it cost?

You can choose to purchase the equipment outright, or you may prefer to have the equipment installed for free and receive a partial commission of the generated revenue.

To purchase the equipment outright starts from $4,000 and goes upward depending on the size of your building, number of rooms, and existing cabling & structure. A building of less than 50 rooms typically costs between $6,000 to $14,000 to setup.

Commission Based Installation

If you opt for the commission based installation then you pay absolutely nothing for this service. Instead, Arinda will supply and install the required equipment and manage the customer payment gateway. You will be paid a commission of all profit generated by the service, and will provide regular statements on usage.

How long does installation take?

Once you express an interest in this service an Arinda technician will come to your business to conduct a site survey to inspect your cabling and telephone system to ensure that your building is compatible with solution. Then we will arrange for a new, high-speed internet connection to be connected to your building. At the same time additional site visits will be made to install the equipment in your building. Modems will then be configured and delivered ready for placement in your rooms. The system will then be tested. Once everything is in place our Arinda staff will come to your site and provide you with marketing materials and training.

All up the entire process usually takes 3 to 6 weeks from first contact.
