PC Based – no need for a separate computer

Our POS System is PC based, meaning it can be used both as a POS terminal and as an ordinary PC. Thus you no longer need a separate computer to complete your book-keeping, word processing, payroll, correspondence, faxing, and so on. It can all be done on the one terminal, saving you thousands of dollars.

                

Quick to Learn - Easy to Use

We know the high staff-turnover levels that exist in the hospitality and tourism industries, and hence we have developed our software to be very easy to operate so that training new staff is a piece of cake.  The intuitive design and touch-screen simplicity means that most staff should be able to operate the system effectively without any formal training.

Customer Database

You can store information on each particular customer, such as delivery address, food allergies, standing discount, customer loyalty programs, and even right down to how they like their eggs. Customers will thoroughly appreciate this much more personalised level of service.

Customer Loyalty Programs

The system can automatically store rewards points against your regular customers, which you can use to setup customer loyalty programs.

Database Records – permanent historical data

The POS System records every transaction into a database. The database is capable of holdings many millions of transactions, meaning that you can run reports across years of data. Using a database means that old transactions can be accessed and reviewed. If ever a customer calls claiming that their credit card was over charged some time ago, you will be able to bring up their sale and double check the details of the transaction. You can also backup the database at any time, and keep the data stored with your tax records.

Reporting

With the POS System you will be able to print a variety of reports to allow you to better analyse your business. Daily sales reports, takings reports, which items are selling, which staff are selling the most items, which items are being wasted, what time of day does the rush start. All these queries can be answer with a few simple clicks of a button. There is no more guess work. You can graph the days sales by hour, or produce a graph showing sales by day of the week. This greatly assists in developing staff rosters.

Colourful & Graphical Touch Screen Display

The software smartly uses colours and graphical icons to make tasks and items easy to find and identify. Operators will benefit from increased efficiency by being able to quickly find and select items by a single-finger touch on the touch screen display.

You can even add digital photos of your menu items so that staff can view them and see exactly how a dish or drink should be presented, or to show the picture to a customer and answer customer enquiries. Your wait-staff won't have to bother the kitchen any longer with questions of "what's in the …". All the details of each menu item are entered into the POS System for staff to view at any time.

You can even add recipes and instructions.

Speed-Button Menu Screen

The menu screen in the POS System uses categories and sub-categories to ensure that menu items are easy to find and quick to add. Each menu item can be added to multiple sub categories, meaning that staff can spend less time trying to hunt down menu items.

Everything is on the one screen, in full sight, and readily identifiable. And if an order is being changed, or new items added to it, a separate window is opened to show the changes being made before they are transferred into the existing order. This means fewer errors and fewer items being missed from dockets.

Discounts and Promotions

Ever offer discounts or promotions? Do you make 2-for-1 offers or give a set percentage discount to certain locals and regulars? The POS System can accommodate your promotions and discounts into simple one-click buttons.

Compliments and Complaints

The POS System has a screen where any customer compliments or complaints can be entered. This will help you identify which dishes or staff are attracting the most compliments or complaints. It's a permanent record of performance.

Barcode Enabled

Our POS System can read barcodes, which means that barcodes can be used to scan in your products, or to scan in membership and staff ID cards.

Cash Drawer Assignment – give each staff member their own till drawer

One easy way to combat theft from the till is to give each staff member their own till drawer to be responsible for. Each of our POS Systems can support up to 6 cash drawers. Each staff member can be assigned to a particular cash drawer, which only they can then open. Or you can assign multiple staff to particular cash drawers. You can then print reconciliation reports at the end of each shift to ensure that each staff member's drawer balances without discrepancy.

Payment Processing

Whatever payment methods you accept, they can be entered into the POS System. Tips, cash-out withdrawals, refunds, and discounts can all be recorded. At the completion of the payment a screen displays the change due to the customer. All this means reduced errors!

Security and Transaction Logging

The POS System includes some enhanced security features. Each staff member is entered into the system, and the tasks that they can access and perform are individually set. This means you can restrict which staff members have access to the till drawer, which staff members can give discounts or receive payments, which staff members can run reports or change settings, and so on. This means that you can rest assured knowing that trainees can't mess-up the system, and that managers can still keep the show running.

While it is an optional feature, we recommend the use of Staff ID cards and a Slot Reader. With these features, each staff member is given their own card which they use to operate the till. They simply swipe their card through a slot reader and they are instantly given access to the system. From that point on, every transaction they make, and every time they open the till drawer, a log record is created in the database.
This way you know exactly who is doing what in your system. Meanwhile all the configuration and administration settings are password protected.

Customisable GST-Compliant Tax Invoices

The POS System quickly prints unpaid bills and payment receipts, all of which can be customised to include your logo, business details, promotions, coupons, offers or messages. The receipts meet all the ATO requirements for Tax Invoices.

Split bills

It seems an unavoidable truth that some customers will always want to split their bills. Our system makes this easy and hassle free. All the operator needs to do is highlight the items each customer wishes to pay for, and transfer these to a new order. You will process split payments faster than ever before.

Merge and Move Tables

The POS System allows you to easily merge and move table orders. Anyone running a cafe or restaurant will understand the need to easily record a change of table numbers across dockets to ensure that all items go to the correct table, and that all items are appropriately charged and paid for.

The POS System makes this easy – a couple of clicks and everything gets transferred.

Automatic Public Holiday Surcharge

We pre-load the public holiday dates into your POS System so that any surcharge you wish to make is automatically added to each transaction on those days. This level of automation completely removes any chance that the staff will forget to charge the surcharge.

Kitchen and Bar Printers – replace written dockets with printed dockets

The POS System can be optionally configured to print food orders through to a printer located in the kitchen, and drink orders through to a printer located on your bar. This will remove the need for your wait staff to manually take orders to the kitchen or bar, and will reduce any problems of illegible handwriting.
The printers will spit out the dockets for the kitchen or bar to commence work.

Remote POS Monitor – watch your sales from anywhere in the world

As an optional extra, the Remote POS Monitor allows you to connect to your POS over the internet from anywhere in the world. You can monitor sales, print reports, monitor staff, download data, and perform every other task just as if you were actually in your premises. Why not sleep in for another few hours in the morning with the peace of mind that you can monitor the staff and transactions from your home PC.

Link the POS to your Surf Easy Internet Cafe

Our Serve Easy POS Systems can also be used in conjunction with our Surf Easy Internet Cafe software to manage and run your internet cafe. By using our Serve Easy POS system you can choose to run in pre-pay or post-pay modes, and have users pay you directly at the point of sale cashier.

From the Serve Easy POS System you can also monitor each terminal, review the status of each terminal, and boot a user from a terminal in case you want to end their session early.  The software also allows users to request help directly through the system from their terminal.
